Just back from visiting family out in Shanghai and a flying visit to Japan. Here’s a few of the things that caught my eye……

First up for for this years bake off

Those of you who know us at the studio may well know of our shared passion for cake. All sorts of cake, rustic or refined, light or rich, we love cake. It all started about 6 years ago. Vic Spofforth kept turning up for work armed with large quantities of flapjack. Others saw this as a good way of getting regular freelance work and followed suit (They were right!) Soon the bake off was born and has since bought light to many a dull Mancunian day.

There is only 1 rule, it has to baked by the entrant. It is open for all to enter, freelancers, clients, even complete strangers, and the prize is the knowledge of having supplied the best baked offering.

This years first entry is from Jo Garner, a studio regular. Her first ever entry was a banana and choc chip sponge which has lived long in the memory. Today she presented us with a Lemon Drizzle Cake. A good balance of sweetness and sharp, and a light texture its a fine way to begin the contest.

Welcome to the new website and the new blog. We thought it was time for a change and to showcase more work.
